Austinist has the exciting news that everyone's favorite weirdo Crispin Glover is going to be gracing us hicks in sticks with his presence!
Yes, Crispin will be presenting two of his films, plus a slideshow, here in Austin at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown February 9-11:
The film screening on the 9th and 11th, It is Fine! Everything is Fine!, which was released in 2007, was written by its star, Steven Stewart, a cerebral palsy patient. Glover described the film as "an autobiographical, psycho-sexual, fantastical retelling of [Stewart's] point-of-view of life." It's supposed to be suspenseful and twisted...
On the 10th, Glover will screen What Is It?, which was released in 2005, and stars actors with Down Syndrome as well as some naked, masked porn stars. It's also supposed to question and upend our cultural ideas about race and prejudice.
You had me at psycho-sexual!

It is always amazing to me how well Crispin Glover has aged over the years. River's Edge was on tv the other night and he looked exactly the same as he does now, just with long hair. It's kind of startling. Is mental illness the elixir of life? Has he been pickled? Does he drink the blood of virgins? Do rats have healing properties? Is it just that he keeps dating younger and younger starlets? Well, whatever his secret is, it's working!
