Cameron Is Scarlett With Rage!

This is semi-old news, but Us Weekly has validated (by virtue of its Pulitzer Prize-esque stature in the world of tabloids--not!) the rumor that Justin Timberlake cast starlet Scarlett "Harlot" Johansson in his video with the intention of a) driving Cameron "Bad Skin" Diaz totally batshit crazy jealous, b) breaking up his relationship with said Ms. Diaz, and c) hooking up with Scarlett out of spite and, yes, lust:
When Justin Timberlake, 25, was casting the femme fatale for his new $1 million video, "What Goes Around," the singer – who was on the rocks with 34-year-old girlfriend Cameron Diaz -- went after one actress: Scarlett Johansson. And Johansson readily agreed, an odd choice for the seasoned thespian who’s known for her careful film choices.

But not if you have a crush on the leading man, says a pal of Johansson.

“Scarlett has always liked Justin. They’ve always had a flirtation – that’s why Cameron was threatened by her.”

With good reason. The decision to cast the 20-year-old as the video vixen pushed Timberlake's relationship with Diaz to the breaking point, and paved the way for Johansson to move in for the kill.

“She could not believe he went behind her back to put her in the video," says a Timberlake pal. "Cameron was very jealous of Scarlett.”

Adds the source, “they definitely got together after she did the video.”

Indeed, sources in both stars’ inner circles tell Us the couple are in the beginning stages of a relationship and excited to get to know each other.

Hmmmm...I sort of kind of maybe feel sorry for Cameron Diaz, but not really. She is one of those stars whose public persona is almost too likable; she has to be a colossal pain in the ass in real life, right? Wasn't the character of the annoyingly inane blonde actress in "Lost In Translation" (starring Scarlett Johannson! Ooooooh!) supposed to be based on director Sofia Coppola's experience having to interact with Cameron Diaz on the set of her then-husband Spike Jonze's movie "Being John Malkovich"? Aren't there rumors floating around that Cam can be a bit of a beyotch with her fans? Doesn't she constantly talk about how she can't ever seem to put on weight, no matter how much she eats? Yes, my sympathy for her is melting away like Angelina Jolie's post-partem stomach fat--quickly and with a slightly bitter aftertaste...

Oh, and how awesome is the top right corner of the above Us Weekly cover?
