Harry Connick Jr. Can Do More Good With One Crinkly Eye Than The Whole US Government

The New Orleans Times-Picayune, which relocated to Baton Rouge after its presses were submerged by flood waters following Katrina, published a scathing open letter to President Bush from the paper's editorial staff about his administration's handling of the disaster.

The best part:
Television reporters were doing live reports from downtown New Orleans streets. Harry Connick Jr. brought in some aid Thursday, and his efforts were the focus of a "Today" show story Friday morning.

Yes, as Friend of Felt Up Terri R. pointed out earlier this week, the irony was not lost on residents that Harry Connick Jr. could somehow reach New Orleans, but not federal relief workers.

Mr. Connick Jr.

To read the entire letter, go here. It's worth checking out, although you may end up even more sad and/or enraged...

Also, go over to Beetsolonely and read my fellow blogger Greg Beets' account of the censorship of Kanye West's anti-Bush rant during a Katrina fundraising telethon on NBC last night.
